The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program at the Ralls County Health Department provides a variety of services and resources designed to promote the health, safety, and well-being of women, infants, children, and families throughout our community.
Our program works to identify and address the most important health needs affecting the maternal and child population in Ralls County. Through community health assessments, local and state data, community surveys, and collaboration with community partners and stakeholders, we work to identify health priorities and develop strategies to improve outcomes for children and families.

Maternal Child Health Services and Childcare Health Consultation Services

As part of the MCH Program, the Ralls County Health Department provides services and resources including:
- Immunizations: Vaccines are available for eligible infants and children through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, helping ensure children have access to recommended immunizations at no cost.
- Lead Education & Follow-Up: Children with elevated blood lead levels receive education, support, and follow-up counseling to help reduce lead exposure and promote healthy development.
- Child Care Health Consultation: Our registered nurses work with local child care providers to serve as educators and advocates for healthy, safe environments. Health education and wellness activities are also provided to help children develop healthy habits.
- Health Promotion & Education: We provide health education and resources to children, parents, caregivers, and community partners on topics that promote healthy development and overall well-being.
- Community Partnerships: We collaborate with local organizations, schools, child care providers, and other community partners to identify needs and connect families with resources and support.
